 I’m fascinated with the rate of growth of bamboo, so much that I’ve decided to chart the growth and compare day growth to night growth. I’m doing the best I can to measure the bamboo (since it first broke ground) at 8am and 8pm. Below is the ongoing growth of this particular sprout and a picture of it when it first poked out.My measuring is over. This past weekend we had rain from Friday night through Sunday night which made it very difficult to get out to the bamboo to get measurements. I got 90% of the maximum growth for now anyway. My conclusion: the bamboo essentially grows at the same rate at night that it does during the day. |
